In Pictures: Occupation of Karabakh and internally displaced persons of Azerbaijan

Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts of Azerbaijan were occupied by Armenian-backed separatists who declared independence amid a 1988-1994 conflict that killed at least 30,000 people (Azerbaijani side 24,000 and Armenian side 6,000) and displaced hundreds of thousands. Armenia's occupation and ethnic cleansing forced out over 600,000 Azerbaijanis from their homes in Karabakh and seven other adjacent districts.
